Boğaziçi University Ranked 7th in the BRICS and Emerging Economies University Ranking

Times Higher Education (THE) announced its University Ranking for 22 countries labeled as BRICS and Emerging Economies (BRICS & EE). Boğaziçi University was ranked 7th this year.

The same scores used to determine the 2014 THE rankings, in which Boğaziçi was ranked among the top 150 world universities as 139th, were used in the BRICS and Emerging Economies Ranking with slightly different weights. Three universities from Turkey made it to the top 10, and five made it into the top 20.

Two Universities from China, Peking University and Tsinghua University, appeared at the top of the BRICS & EE Ranking. Only METU (3rd), Boğaziçi University and İTÜ (8th) appeared in the top 10 from Turkey, followed by Sabancı University (15th), Bilkent University (19th), Koç University (29th), Istanbul University (51st), and Hacettepe University (82nd).

27 Universities from China and 19 from Taiwan made it to the top 100 of the BRICS & EE Ranking.

BRICS & EE countries include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Czech Republic, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Taiwan, Turkey, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, and the UAE.
