A Memorable Ceremony at Boğaziçi University for the 50th Graduation Anniversary of the Class of RC ’66 (June 23, 2016)

Boğaziçi University and BUMED (BU Alumni Association) hosted the 50th year of the graduation of the class of RC ‘66 at Kennedy Lodge on June 21.

The guests, who had graduated from Robert College 50 years ago, included Alpar – Cevza Sevgen, Osman Göksu, İlhan Durusoy, Belgin-Nuri Akgerman, Tankut Akalın, Hüseyin Akarlı, Zeki Atabek, Ömer Bilgin, Parseğ Bilir, Meral-Kayhan Çavuşoğlu, Uğur Dinçer, Lütfi Ensari, Ahmet Esmen, Tevfik Göksel, Ali Güvenir, Mahmut Hortaçsu, Oktay Özkan, Gönül Pultar, Erdil Sever, and Haldun Taşman.

Addressing the guests at the ceremony, the President of Boğaziçi University, Prof. Gülay Barbarosoğlu, stated that the University nurtured the culture and values inherited from  Robert College. She remarked that Boğaziçi University was always a home for RC graduates, a haven to come back to. 

Following Prof. Barbarosoğlu’s speech, the guests were presented with plaques commemorating the 50th anniversary of their graduation.

Also among the guests were Prof. Fikret Adaman, Advisor to the President of BU, Prof. Ayşe Mumcu, Vice-President of BU; Prof. Günay Anlaş, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Emeritus Professor Alpar Sevgen and Prof. Cevza Sevgen.

In the speech he made, Cenk Erten (’93), Assistant chair of BÜMED Board of Directors, said, “As graduates of Boğaziçi University, we are well aware of our roots, which also nurture our future.   It is our duty to strengthen our unity.”
