Boğaziçi University granted an honorary doctorate to Ara Güler, one of Turkey’s most renowned photographers. At a ceremony held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, the veteran photographer was presented with an honorary doctorate for the high technical and artistic quality of his photos and his contributions to presenting Turkey’s history and daily life to the world.
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) announced its 2014 Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index, which was compiled for the first time last year. Boğaziçi University ranked 3rd among 144 universities in the “Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index”, which lists universities according to their entrepreneurship and innovation performance.
Established by Boğaziçi University in collaboration with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the “Boğaziçi University Traffic Management Center” is now open! The Intelligent Transportation Systems lab established at Boğaziçi University as part of the “Traffic Management Center Project for Universities” is the first initiative in Turkey that aims to conduct basic and applied transportation studies based on global data and to train the transportation engineers of the future. With this intelligent transportation system, the labs will offer innovative solutions to Istanbul’s traffic problems.
